Real Estate Attorney

Are you an attorney with an entrepreneurial spirit, enjoy working independently, looking to represent and help small businesses and nonprofits, and innovate in the legal field? Trellis Legal, LLC (www.trellispgh.com), a small woman-owned transactional law practice focused on providing innovative and accessible legal services to small businesses, non-profits, and individuals, is looking to hire an attorney for the area real estate law along with some business transactional support. Trellis believes in a healthy and positive work environment, no billable hour minimums, reasonable work hours/work life balance, and changing the way law serves its clients.
Job will include:
· Working with existing clients of the practice;
· Building new client relationships/bringing clients with the attorney;
· Document drafting and review;
· Client management and advising;
· Supporting firm’s existing business transactional work as needed;
· Representing clients in real estate purchase, sales, due diligence, and closings, lease matters, tax appeals, and other real estate matters;
· Collaborating with and supporting the other attorneys at firm and participating in firm decision making;
· Developing tools for firm’s products and offerings.
Attorney will work under principal attorney but will have lots of independence, and get to be part of a collaborative team where the attorney will get to develop and expand their, and the firm’s, practice. Trellis focuses on using paperless methods, innovating and providing unique legal access and resources, and serving the needs of clients through transparent pricing models. Position is designed to help with existing business transactional work and general firm solicitations on an as needed basis while expanding the firm’s practice areas to include real estate.
Firm is open to part time and full-time options. Some existing book of business preferred for full time. Possibility of transitioning to full time from part time as well. We love finding passionate attorneys where the traditional law firm isn’t fitting their needs and are open to arrangements that work for you and the firm.
Applicant requirements:
· The ability and desire to help build and shape the firm, work one on one with clients, take initiative, and build new client relationships;
· Licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania,
· Have at least 4+ years of experience in real estate work (lease review, tax appeals, commercial and residential real estate closings and transactions);
· Familiar with legal research and electronic record keeping;
Competitive small firm compensation with additional bonus and origination payments to allow for attorney driven salary and growth potential. Open for discussion based on experience level, existing book of business, and hours.
